Legend tells the story of two rivals, June Iparis and Daniel Altan Wing. Once known as the western coast of the United States, the Republic stands as a nation at war with its neighbors and the Colonies. Daniel was born into one of the poorest sectors in all the nation, and he is one of the most wanted criminals. Since the Republic doesn't know anything about him, they call him Day. His younger brother Eden is infected by the plague and only the Republic holds the cure. Day hates the Republic because of the way they run the nation. The captain is mysteriously killed and Day is the prime suspect. That captain was Junes brother and he was everything to her. He was also a best friend to one of his soldiers, Thomas. June promises to avenge her brother and find his killer. Only she and her dog are together in this harsh fight. To locate Day, June searches his home and his town, hoping to find him, but stumbles into a fight. A beautiful boy rescues June and takes her out of the arena. After a while, they soon fall in love with each other even they didn't know who the other person was. One night, while they were going to bed, June spots the boy reaching for his necklace that he had once had. It was the necklace he lost at Metias’ crime scene. June inferred that he was her brothers killer. She reports back to her commander saying that she has found Day. Now, Day’s family is in danger and he desperately tries to save them, but Thomas shoots Days mother, killing her. Day attacks and tries killing the soldiers, but June's commander shoots him in the
