Mike Yorkey “The Right Steph” is an excellent book. This book is a biography.The book is about how Stephen Wardell Curry went from a low D1 recruit. To a college sensation in two years. Steph Curry wasn’t the biggest or strongest guy on the court but he always played the best. While Steph was in college he was one of the nation's most watched players. In Steph’s junior year Steph was contemplating either staying his senior year or going into the nba draft to fulfill his dream of going to the nba. Steph ending up leaving for the draft to and became the 7th pick in the first round for the Warriors. In Steph first couple years in the nba he had been riddled with injuries. The biggest injury has to be his ankle, Steph broke his ankle during those injury years. At a point they thought Steph career may be over, but Steph went to a special doctor in his hometown South Carolina and he fixed up Steph’s ankle. From there on Steph career changed in the a huge way. During the 2013-2014 in the game against the Knicks exploded for 54 points in a loss. The way the book follows part 2 and 3 of the Hero’s Journey is because Steph has a lot of test through his first couple years in the league from his ankle to maybe the team going to cut. Also Steph had some helper and mentors like his dad Dell,his mom Sonya and his College and High School coaches.Another way Stephs goes through part 3 of the Hero’s journey is how Steph went through his Approach which was the playoffs for him. Steph for him came when he had trouble against the Cavs in the NBA Finals when they were down 2-1. Steph eventually got his reward when he beat the Cavs in the NBA Finals 4-2 and to win his first ever NBA Champion. To sum it all up,Mike Yorkey “The Right Steph” is a great book to read you don’t need to be a fan of basketball or Stephen Curry to enjoy the
