There’s a serious issue in today’s workplace as far as conformity goes. Whether it be a strong personality changing the viewpoint of everyone else around them or the lack of help between the different members of the group or the people being conditioned to do nothing at all. Problem Statement It’s a well-known issue of people not doing much when presented with the opportunity. Several people in my work have the potential to be so much more than they are but have become stagnant in their roles because of fear of change. Yet we as humans, and especially us as Christians should not be ones giving in to fear. Psalms 118:6 asks us “what can mere mortals do to me?” The belief in an omnipotent, powerful God should be more than enough to put is a position in which we have nothing to fear. Still we do. Several times throughout our years at work she’s come to me with several issues pertaining not only to her Christian walk but also about her own personal choices in life. Whether or not the things she was doing were God honouring our not. Most of those days, despite my advice or judgement she has returned to doing things the exact same way as before. Either from outward pressure from her family or from inward pressure from coworkers, she has given up on what she feels God was leading her towards. It’s very easy to underestimate the pressure of a co-worker. We spend most of our waking hours around these certain groups of people who continuously pound into us their beliefs and ideas through casual conversation. We as Christians need to remain guarded to these attacks at all times regardless of situations. Particularly in places where we feel safest like church, work or home.
