Delegation in Nursing is defined as transferring the responsibility of performing a nursing activity to another person while retaining accountability for the outcome (ANA & NCSBN). Also, (Florence N. 1859) wrote in her note book "But then, to look to all these things AS Nurses does not mean to do them yourself…But can you insure that it is done when not done by yourself”? Wow! These words, written in her note book on Nursing in 1859, spoke or summarized the idea of delegation in nursing. That’s the question I think every nurse should be asking when delegating tasks.
