I think Hiaasen did a good job in writing Bad Monkey as it was a relaxing and easy read. However, it could have been condense. I think Hiaasen made the story long to make sure there was enough time to truly understand the characters and to develop the Florida/Caribbean atmosphere. Moreover, I do think that some parts of the story seemed a little cheesy such as Nicholas Stripling not shooting Yancy while he was holding Eve striplings dog. I did like the fact that Yancy got rid of Evan Shook’s house because it symbolized that Yancy was able to get rid of the corruption. Shook had paid off some people to make the house he was going to sell taller than it was supposed to be which violated codes. I think it made a nice ending when it said that Yancy
