During this era there were many problems during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s. And the progressive era did many things to try and improve this. There were many issues with the poor women and the trust that we're building in business. The government were involved with the business now and we're trying to get rid of trust. Many muckrakers went into places to inform the government what is happening inside them. The poor had so many problems and and during this era the muckrakers like Jacob Riis help the people who are in middle class and upper class to realize that the poor needs their help. Jacob Riis wrote a book call How the other half lives to show how the poor lives. Riis was a man who believed that everyone should have the same rights. So when he decided to write a book, he complained that the poor need better housing sanitation, parks. He was trying to tell middle-class and upper-class to take a step in their society and help out people who don't have anything. …show more content…
The children were so useful in factories and mine they could squeeze through the machines like adults couldn't and in factories and mines they were easily manageable and can controllable and can be payed less. Child laborers stopped going to school so they can help and support their families and they can be paid less than adults. During the great depression child labor decrease because people wanted jobs and they complain that they only give jobs to children while many people need jobs. Throughout the years the child labor decrease because more immigrants came over and more adults wanted jobs so less children were working year after
