America was a closed continent prior to the 17th century. Then Europeans began to arrive at this time and they brought their own cultures with them. These days, with the development of transportations and the internet, it’s much easier to communicate across countries even continents. Canada has also become much more multicultural than ever before. Nevertheless, some people don’t welcome people from with cultures. To be honest, I think multiculturalism is good for Canadian society.

The more multicultural the society is; the more choices people have. People could choose whatever they like in a multicultural society. For example, they could choose the religions that they believe freely, they could choose the ways of life which are fit in them. Also, people could try more new things easily. When we are walking on the street and see many restaurants with delicious foods inside from other countries, shall we say “Thank you” to multiculturalism? When people keep receiving new things that much different from their own cultures, they would be open-minded. So it helps people to be creative and vivid.

Finally, being multicultural could help with globalization. People who grow up in a multicultural society know more about other cultures, they could even try to learn some other languages. Also, if everyone is very multicultural, they may want a lot of foreign goods and products so there will be a high demand. This could encourage economic growth. I know Canada allows a lot of foreigners who have skills or knowledge come to work in Canada. The more multicultural the Canadian society is; the more foreigners would like to come to
