Is having pride a sin? No, but having pride and power over the gods in greek mythology was wrong. Odysseus did just that; he was victorious in the Trojan war and boasted to everyone without giving the gods thanks or credit. Because of his pride, Odysseus was not permitted to return to his homeland, Ithaca. The polar opposite of pride is humility.
