Did you know the Amazon Rainforest has produced many jobs for the Brazilian population and economy. One of these jobs is rubber tapping. Rubber tapping is the process of collecting sap from rubber trees for making a variety of rubber products. Also tapping rubber trees doesn’t hurt the environment, unlike the loggers who cut down trees and destroy habitat. The work the rubber tappers do is great for the Brazilian population and government. This essay is about the rubber tappers of the Amazon Rainforest and what they do and how they do it.

The Amazon Rainforest rubber tree tappers have been working in the forest since the 1870’s. They have been working there before any other group besides the natives that live there. Early groups of tree tappers worked on plantations as slave labor. Today the plantation owners are gone but the tree tappers still work on the rubber trees in the rainforest. The tree tappers live in the towns near the forest where they can sell their products they make from the sap that is collected from the trees.
