Although all progressives fought for social reforms, the uniform group split into two, one that represented social justice and the other for social control. Many movements originated during this era, serving as achievements to the progressives. The Muckrakers played a huge role in the social justice fight for labor equality and women’s suffrage movements, just to name a few. These two movements are categorized as social justices because their purpose was to create equality among women and labor workers. A couple of social campaigns that classify as social control were prohibition and birth control.
