Mallory stood, just a little too close to the edge of that cliff. She didn’t notice, she was much too immersed in the view.You wouldn’t have to know what she was thinking you could know just by looking at her face. The view was, after all too beautiful to look away from. The sun setting atop the mountains gave it a purple glow. Mallory didn’t even hear their footsteps behind her. So she saw beauty and then she saw nothing.

The detective had been called only one hour earlier by a Mr. Malvolio. An interesting name thought the detective. He hadn't given a last name and had seemed to be in a rush. During the call he had been instructed to arrive at a restaurant. To receive the papers relating to the case he was being hired for. He strolled into the restaurant. Not the typical place to receive files and certainly to fancy. A waiter seemed to notice his entrance.
“Hello sir. How may I help you?” he asked with a seemingly confused look on his face. “I’m looking for a Mr. Malvolio.”
“Of course, sir. Please follow me.”

He had started reading them when Malvolio announced that he had other business to attend to and instructions for what the detective shall do were included in the files. The detective read them and thought Why even give such vague instructions. Mallory’s sister was the only possible suspect. She didn’t have an alibi and Mallory’s friends had said they recently had a fight they also mentioned that no one hated her because she was kind to everyone. No one had questioned her sister though, because her friends had also said she had been so stricken by grief she wouldn’t talk to anyone nor come out of her apartment.
