In the movie the sapphires, it shows you what it was like to be a true Australian by giving you the perspective of 4 aboriginal and one Irish man. Throughout the movie it shows you how they were treated, what it was they do for a living and where they live, but what is a true Australian is it the white supreme race in Australia at the time or was it the native people of Australia the aboriginals this movie helps you see what it was like to be a true native Australian and how they were treated.
The plot of the sapphires is about a group of 4 Aboriginal girls and one Irish man that travels to Vietnam to preform music for the soldiers going to war. One of the aboriginal girls is from the stolen generation which means that their skin colour is light enough to pass as a white person. The Irish man is treated differently and not respected as much as normal white men even though he is white it is because he has an accent.

In Australia the native Australians, the aboriginals, have darker skin colour therefore they are treated differently because of their race. The aboriginals have a different idea of living for example they didn’t build houses or farms to sleep in or live in, so they were deemed uneducated and not as smart. The aboriginals lived off the land and built temporary shelters so they wouldn’t damage the land around them, the aboriginals were aware of the way the world worked and the life cycle of every animal that lived on
