In 1931, some black and white men started fighting while riding the rails. When the men got off the train, the nine black men were arrested and accused of rape by the two prostitutes, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. After these men were accused of rape they were sent to several trials, which had many outcomes. The first trial of the nine men began almost two weeks after the arrest.
