The Second Vatican Council was from 1962 through to 1965. It occurred 17 years after World War Two ended, meaning that it was in 1945 when the US dropped the atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. As well as this, 1945 was when Adolf Hitler killed himself and his wife Eva, in his underground bunker because of Germany’s loss in the war. 14 years before the Second Vatican Council, the Big Bang Theory was formulated and in 1952, Princess Elizabeth became queen at the age of 25. The amazing discovery of DNA occurred 9 year prior to the Council and Disneyland and McDonald’s were both first opened in 1955.
