While reading The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace, I recognized a lot of similarities we shared and what we he and my father had in common as well. Rob and I both grew up in an environment that was unsafe and heavily influenced the younger generation to be a part their culture. Our fathers went to jail and then to prison, and we both had mothers who did there absolute best to try and keep us away from that kind of lifestyle; the ones our parents had. Our mother were our heart and soul, someone we sought to take care of in the future. We took to sports to let our frustrations out, and we both ended up going to very prestigious University’s during our college years.
