The book 1984 by George Orwell takes place in a dystopian time in which government is too forceful and becomes totalitarian. The people of Oceania strive for utopianism and all behave the same way. Privacy issues relating to the theme manipulation and control are relevant in today’s society because of how we are controlled due to fake news, secrets and the ability of surveillance.
