It also illustrates and give examples how selfish people can be when it comes to helping others and luxury. The purpose of “The Singer Solution to World Poverty” is to motivate the reader or his audience to change their way of thinking and consider the fact that they could also contribute to those penniless people of the world. The article is being directed to all Americans, strongly suggesting that everyone needs to help. Most of the readers, in fact all cannot agree with giving up most of their income into anonymous charity all in the name of poverty alienation. He sounds so desperately demanding which might be scary and not entirely convincing. But then, he still makes his point clear for his readers to understand the concept of “giving as much as you can, in any way” to charitable aid organizations. Again I think most religious audience will accept this article especially Christians. Christians believe that when you give to someone who is in need you will receive it in another form being it blessing etc. others might not agree because if their belief says they get a blessing from giving that doesn’t mean they should give out the only money they have on them just to also go penniless afterwards.
