The twentieth century was a remarkable by many aspects time in the world history. Time full of historical events, technological and scientific discoveries which still affect us today. World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) put a beginning of numerous technological and scientific innovations in the weapon production to protect and establish superiority of nations. In October 1954, the resolution for launching artificial satellites during the IGY to map the Earth’s surface. In July 1955, the US introduced plans to launch first satellite to orbiting the Earth and petitioned proposals from many researchers agencies to start development.
