Although topics of concern and interest can be extremely different, their underlying message and purpose can be very similar. The plays, The Farm Show and Jinch Marlex deal with different problems yet are similar in three evident ways. First of all, both plays had intentions of raising awareness for a cause for particular groups of people, both main characters experienced a loss in the play, and lastly, Jinch Marlex and the theatre group to which Miles belonged, were both composed of young people who used real life experiences to create the play.

The composition of The Farm Show dealt with direct quotes from farmers and living the life of a farmer. The process of this play became famous because, “Director Paul Thompsom and a group of actors stayed in a borrowed farmhouse near Clinton, Ontario. Out of their conversation with local farmers, the cast improvised a documentary play that combined spoken actuality and exuberant storytelling theatrically.” Similarly in the Jinch Marlex, the young adults came together to create a play, which illustrated their experiences and stories. “12 aspiring actors, poets, lyricists and storytellers aged 16 to 22 came together for an intensive 10-week program… Jinch Marlex is the result of this journey, a dub/rap play written and preformed by the young playwrights.” These plays became so successful due to their authentic nature and their believable stories. Both got into character by either living and acting just as the people they are writing about would or allowing their own experiences to shine through their performances. In conclusion, using very young, talented artists, these two plays were created very
