Five years may seem like it’s a really long time, but for some people it flies by within a blink of an eye. In five years I’d hope to accomplish many things like win the speech contest, go to state for mock trial, and sit first chair for my instrument in band. But my number one goal, is to be liked and have friends, because loneliness is my biggest fear. Odysseus and I have similar aspirations, which is to find someone that cares for you. Unfortunately, there are always obstacles that have to block our paths. Odysseus and I run into similar obstacles, such as temptation, failure, and judgement. The first obstacle is temptation. Failure is something that happens constantly no matter what. Odysseus and his men were in sight of Ithaca, when the men started becoming selfish. Opening the large bag they were expecting to find a large portion of jewels, only to be caught off guard by a giant gust of wind that blew their ship away from the island. Failure is common when searching for the right person that cares. Trial and error is what I like to call it. It’s difficult to find someone to put up with you, listen to all of your stories, and keep all of your secrets. Life’s almost like an audition. Temptation, failure, and judgement constantly stand in my way, like when you're late to something and traffic puts you behind even more. I know for a fact that my fear of loneliness will fade, because I just blinked and I did get to accomplish all of those things. I won the speech contest in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade, my mock trial team went to state three times, and I am currently sitting first chair bassoon in band, but most of all I do have people who care, who support me, and I can be around others who don’t judge my every
