The Sword in the Stone has many different versions. The story has been made in to many different books and movies. Each version is either a little different or is incredibly different from the original tale. The changes can range from Arthur’s job, how the story starts, or even what is written on the sword in the stone. Even Disney’s version of the story and another version varies in many ways. Disney’s version and the other version of The Sword in the Stone both have the same plot. Arthur is squire. There is a tournament in where if you win, you become king. Both stories have the tournament on New Year’s Day. Kay is competing in the tournament to become king. There is a sword in the stone. Kay’s sword is forgotten and Arthur runs to go get it. Arthur can’t get Kay’s sword. Arthur pulls the sword out of the stone. These stories have more differences then similarities. Disney’s …show more content…
I like how it explains why Arthur is the chosen one, and how Arthur’s past is explained. I also like how Merlin is this mysterious sorcerer rather than Disney’s nice, kind Merlin. I don’t like how Disney had it where everyone excepted Arthur as king right away. I also enjoyed the other story a lot more because it got strait to the point, rather than having Arthur go on mini adventures with Merlin. Overall I liked the more realistic view of the other story than Disney’s fun, unrealistic view. The Sword in the Stone has many variations. Even though Disney’s version and the other version basically share the same plot, the have a lot of differences. Disney gave each character a lot of time to show their true colors, but the other story only gives basic details for each character. When certain thing occur is also different between both stories. The endings and beginnings are also different. Overall both tell their own version of The Sword in the Stone, even though they are so
