Eliducwas written by the medieval poet Marie de France and talks about the story of the knight from Brittany, Eliduc. As the main character, Eliduc was portrayed within the Brenton lay as a trusted and loyal servant of the king of their land. Within this literary piece, the accounts of romantic love, loyalty, and the bonds between a man and his wife. The whole piece mainly focused on how important it is for someone to remain faithful when it comes to marriage. Within Eliduc, the two wives of the protagonist of the story have shown that it is realistically necessary for marriages to be built not just with love, but also with fidelity for one another.
