According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is the third-

leading cause of death for 15 to 24 year olds after accidents and homicide. Yearly, at least

25 attempts are made for every completed teen suicide (KidsHealth, 2016). The reason I

am interested in this topic is because of my suicide attempt. My spring semester at

University Park campus, I nearly died because of a suicide attempt. There were so many

factors that contributed to my suicide attempt and I would like to learn more about why

other individuals my age or younger attempt suicide. My suicide attempt was due to

stress from school, the sense of feeling alone and an unhealthy relationship breakup. I
