The article of “The Wage Gap Myth” by Denise Venable has many interesting facts and reason why women are paid less than men. There are different issues that go into the wage gap. Personally, I think the wage gap is caused by the gender roles and individual choice of the women. Regarding gender roles, women care more about their family rather than their jobs. So, they focus on getting part time employment such as secretary, office clerk and primary school teacher whereas men emphasis on getting high rankings job such as managing director, CEO’s and partner of the company. This creates a gap between the income of women and men, which leads to economic inequality. Furthermore, individual choice of women also leads to the wage gap as some women
