War on Terror

The controversial War on Terror is a huge issue in the U.S. On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four planes. They crashed two if the jets into the twin tower, also known as the World Trade Center in New York City. Thousands died on this tragic day. This is how the devastating War on Terror launched. The war on terror is illegal, so many troops have died, and there is no end in sight (Well page 54).
Terrorism is violence against normal people. Terrorists do not belong to a country’s armed forces. They explode bombs, destroy property, and kill people. This is exactly what terrorists did on 9/11. That is also how the war on terror started. This war is also illegal.
The reason why the world on terror is illegal is because the Law State Congress has to declare war, not the president which was George W. Bush at the time. It was George Bush who declared war after the events of 9/11. There have been so many deaths in this war, including troops and foreign civilians.
227,000 people have died. This includes 116,657 civilians. 108,000 Taliban Islamists and 25,297 Iraqi and Afghan soldiers have also died. There is also a great amount of American soldiers that have died, including British soldiers and other coalition forces. There has been 654,965 deaths between 2003 and 2006. It’s about 2.5% of the Iraqi population. There’s been many deaths in a short amount of time, and the numbers keep going up. Today the statistic would be updated to about 1,455,590 deaths. Yet, no one has really done anything to stop this bloody war (War).
Current president Barack Obama announced the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Yet between April 2009 and September 2010, the number of troops committed to the war went up twice as much. The numbers went up from 39,000 to 98,000 troops. It is ridiculous how nobody has done anything to bring the troops back home (War).
There are people that believe that this war is a lie and an excuse to take oil from foreign countries. Joseph Goebbels said, “If you tell a lie big enough
