HERO part one: CH.4 Proving Your Worth: The Warrior

The author starts this chapter by listing some of the characteristics of the warrior archetype. Some of the examples used were being competitive, working harder and longer than others, and feeling as if you have no meaning if you are not being productive. From experience I have seen many people with these traits that would be considered to be in the warrior stage. They always were the best in class with the highest grades and their projects always had more work and content than what was needed for a good grade.
The author then went on to explain how hunters were an excellent example of the warrior archetype. The author explained that how for the hunters in the old days had to be the best because if they failed it would mean their family’s would not have food to eat and would eventually starve and die but is they succeeded they would gain the respect of their family’s and of their fellow hunters. The hunters in their spare time would work to make better weapons and traps to better their skill, increase their efficiency and increase their rate of success.
The author mentioned that the warrior can have some negative side effects in its more primitive form. In my life I have found some of these harmful side effects affecting me. I would threaten with violence at anyone that picked on or bullied me because I was tired of always being seen as weak prey. I would snap to anger quickly because I would feel that it’s the
