A descriptive essay in nonsensical prose that attempts to convey feeling through the use of characters in fantastical settings. Although you don't find out until the end a little girl Alice fall asleep and enters a world through which fantasy and reality are combined with animals who favor particular subjects unrealistically.
This incredibly short essay is one of the most well read by children and adults in the history of the civilized world. It is the influence of so many other works-most notably L. Frank Baum "The Wizard Of Oz" which mirrors it's fantastical approach to the insecurity of a young girl.
