People sometimes don't realize how much power they have upon someone. In both stories "corruption of power" is being used. In the beginning they started off with great leaders. Then things started to take a downfall when someone else started to take over and become the leader. In Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies everything started out good with the leaders, then things started to get a little out of hand, and lastly a bad and good outcome occurs.

In Lord of the Flies Ralph was chosen leader of everyone, and in Animal Farm Old Major was the leader until he died so two pigs became the leader (Napoleon and Snowball).
