In the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, Puck is Oberon’s (King of the fairies) servant and does whatever Oberon demands of him. Puck is trying to control the young lovers of this play with magic. Egeus is Hermia’s father. He is trying to control Hermia by saying she has two choices: to marry Demetrius or to die. He says, “full of venation come I, with complaint against my child, my daughter Hermia. -stand forth Demetrius.-My noble lord, this man hath my consent to marry her.” This states that Egeus wants to have Demetrius marry his child Hermia. That it could be possible to control another's actions. The reason to support is that some people to control the person they were trying to. Oberon thinks he cosseted in controlling the young lovers. He says “what hat thou done? thou hast mistaken quite and laid the love juice on some true-lovers sight of thy misprision must perforce ensue some true-lovers turned and not a false turned true(3.2 90-93).” This shows not they are going to put the flower into eyes with magic flower liquor. This also shows that it is possible to control another. Oberon says (applying nectar to Demetrius eye’s) “Flower of this purple dye, hit with Cupid's archery, sink in apple of his eye. When his love he doth says.” This shows that magic can control another. It is impossible to control another's actions without magic. It clearly says in the text that they put the liquor of the flower that was hit with Cupid’s bow. So it shows that the only way to control another's actions is with the use of magic on a magic flower or help of magic. This states that magic is the only way to control another’s actions.

Therefore, this show that it is impossible to control another's actions without using magic. Basically that it is impossible to control another person’s action without the use of magic because it is unpredictable and has uncontrollable results. My view on this is that it
