It must be said that Fate versus Free Will means that some people make their own choice but at the same time some people can’t control their own fate but they will believe that they can do and try to make there own path. This is a theme In MACBETH because Macbeth knew he will be the new king and it was fate but when we progress through the story Lady Macbeth started to play with his fate and change Macbeth choices so he can become King sooner. In Act 1 on page 32, Lady Macbeth says, “But screw your courage to the sticking place, and we’ll not fail. When Duncan is asleep, I’ll ply his guards with wine till memory and reason shall depart. What cannot you and I perform upon the unguarded Duncan? What not put upon his spongy officers, who shall bear the guilt of our great act?” The text evidence shows the theme is relevant and accurate to the story because Macbeth was chosen to be king but Lady Macbeth changed his fate by killing the former king. This is a theme in MACBETH because Macbeth motive or goal was to become king. But because of Lady Macbeth she was corrupted with the image of having the power of a queen so she changed Macbeth thoughts and caused him to do stuff that he will regret.
