In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee It takes place in Maycomb County, Alabama, it talks about Atticus Finch and his family. Atticus is a lawyer and has two kids Scout and Jem. The theme of To Kill a Mockingbird is everyone has flaws and you can either except those flaws or you can judge them and treat them differently than everyone else. They are judging people for their family or history and the way they look at this is not fair because they can't change that and there's no point in ridiculing them because of it. For example when Tom Robinson is blamed for hurting Mayella Ewell even though this was not what happened the court had a better shot of excusing him because of his race and his family's background ( 263 ). This was one of my favorite and least favorite parts of the book because I liked that even though there was almost no way Tom Robinson would come out innocent, but they still had a full trial and treated everyone somewhat fairly. …show more content…
And is more alike of a boy of tom boy. Her aunt tries to make her more of a “ proper “ women who will be able to stand by a man in her life. It talks about how everyone in Maycomb County has been going through a bad streak and I think this is saying everyone goes through a bad streak but in the end they come out alright. I think it is saying that Aunt Alexandra feels like Scout is going through a bad streak and she will grow out of it soon. (172
