According to licteracyprojectfoundation.org there are over 45 million Americans that are illiterate and can’t read over the 5th grade level. Illiteracy is a problem in America that a lot of people don’t address because of shame. illiteracy is defined as the lack of basic reading, writing skills to function in modern society. Social media is not the only modern tool that these people are missing out on. Nearly half of these people live in poverty.
