The geography of Middle-Earth influences the Hobbits by causing them to be civil as a result of isolation from other societies, build holes into the ground for homes, and consume an abundance of wheat-based products due to their location in the plain hills. The Hobbits’ remote position in Middle-Earth causes them to be unnaturally respectful to one another, even without a written set of laws.
