Millions of people in this world, all of them yearning, looking to others to satisfy them, yet isolating themselves. Why? Was the earth put here just to nourish human loneliness?” In the novel, “Frankenstein”, by Mary Shelley demonstrates isolation. Victor Frankenstein vanishes from his family and his loved ones periodically through the story. Also, Victor’s creature demonstrates how being isolated from society creates a true monster. The theme of Frankenstein is how isolation affects the bond and feeling between family and loved ones.
