As early the “start of time” to present day stories, feminine characters have always been portrayed as weak or lower than masculine characters. Some of the sexism in the stories, myths, etc. are not as drastic as others, but they are still present. It is sad to say, but yes even in Greek mythology women were portrayed at a lower standard. It may seem that the Greek Goddesses were “equal” to the Gods, but there are some hints of sexism with what they are in charge of, or represent. For example, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades are all men, and it isn’t ironic that they controlled the largest aspects of Mythology, the sky, ocean, and the underworld, while their other female siblings Hestia, Hera and Demeter control the not as major aspects of the earth,
