Every person has sinned at least once in their life. The Great Gatsby isn’t an exception. Pride, Lust, and Wrath are just a few of the sins committed in The Great Gatsby. Due to this the book should be called The Lustful, Glory, and the Angry Way.

The character Tom is full of sin. From page fifteen, Jordan Baker says “Tom’s got some woman in New York.” He is embodying Lust by having a mistress. But that is not the only thing Tom Buchanan embodies.

Among being Lustful, Tom shows signs of Pride. On page seven the main character (Nick) just arrives at the Buchanan’s house. Tom says “I’ve got a nice place here.” Instead of inviting Nick inside he proceeds to show off to Nick how wealthy he is. There is also one more sin Tom displays.
