In the movie Pleasantville, although somewhat perspective from the themes of racism and conformity, the movie discusses themes along these lines. It shows through mainly teenagers and women’s views of societal changes. Everything begins in black and white, and it isn’t until teenagers begin to stray from their norms and societal guidelines when colour begins to bloom in their town. This depicts the youth straying away from the social standards that have previously been set by the older generations. Some examples of how they express themselves is through intercourse, art, music, and learning. Furthermore, as such in real life, the older white men get upset due to the changes being made to their “perfect world”, and they act out irrationally
