The story is about Theodore Boone, a thirteen-year-old kid who always dreamed of becoming a trial lawyer, just like his parents. Different from other teenagers in his age, he spent most of his leisure time in the court, watching the trial proceeding. Despite of his young age, he had learned a lot about practical law system from the court. Therefore, his friends in the town of Strattenberg often came to him for “legal advice”. The whole series is telling the stories about the legal problems that Theodore and his friends had faced with.

In this book, Kid Lawyer, Theodore accidentally got involved in a complicated murder case. Peter Duffy, a rich businessman in the town was accused of murdering his forty-six-year-old wife, Myra Duffy, by strangulation. We read lots of stories about kid detectors, kid adventurers, and kid travelers. However, how can a young kid become such a career that requires professional knowledge? After reading the book, as a student just started my study in law department, I think that it’s nearly impossible for a thirteen-year-old boy to possess such advanced knowledge of practical law. Maybe that’s the reason why Theodore Boone stood out to be a hero.

Aside from Theo’s over-mature behavior, the author made up the whole case with reasonable logic, and the plot was always fluent for any readers who are not familiar with the system of law. I personally love the plot that the Boones family finally worked together to find out the possible solution to deliver the unexpected evidence. It was mostly the end of the story, and the trial was fabulous and fluent with lots of twists and turns that grabbed my heart several times. Overall, this is a great fiction that I would like to read through it again and
