The Thirteen Colonies created the beginning of our government by creating laws and rules to govern their areas. Our government today is still similar to the early colonial government of the Thirteen Colonies. We changed some rules and laws but most of them are very similar, if not the same, to most of the laws they had. Back then, they had Parliament; a government branch that created laws and regulations. United States of America have the legislature branch, which creates laws for other branches to look over and either agree, or disagree. Today, we have many documents that helped make our government what it is today. One of those documents is the Bill of Rights, which takes away some of the President’s power over us.
