In 1803, Thomas Jefferson made a remarkable request to purchase 800,000 square miles of land. Spending 15 million dollars, this land deal is by far the greatest achievement of Thomas Jefferson’s presidency. Being one of the largest land deals in history, I will explain the will that it took to require this land, and the details about this expensive purchase.
