For many inmates, freeing from the prison after a long time of hard-working is the happiest thing in their life. They may have a normal life with their friends and their family as other people. However, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, more than 50 percent of state prisoners returned to the jail within three to five years after their release. In this essay, three major factors that lead to recidivism are: lack of job opportunities, drug addiction, and lack of family support.
