What is courage? What is the difference between being courageous and being a thrill seeker? Courage to me is having the strength to be able to do something even though is scares you. Thrill seeking on the other hand is when you find pleasure in doing stressful or dangerous activities. Some examples of courage is serving in the military, becoming a police officer, or becoming a firefighter. Examples of being a thrill seeker would be skydiving, zip lining or being a race car driver. Personally, I feel that all the activities are dangerous but you have to have courage to be able to help other people and yourself.

My first example is about thrill seeking, to be specific, bungee jumping. I've, personally never done it but, I have heard about the experiences of people who have. Bungee jumping is an activity in which you jump off a high point such as a bridge or a building while attached to a long elastic cord. She, used to be a police officer and she had to work very hard to get to the rank she retired at. In 1991 she obtained the rank of captain of the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station. In 1997 she was an honoree of the Black Women of Achievement, and in 1998 she became the first women appointed the position of assistant sheriff. She even has an article about her called "Women in Law Enforcement" by Regina Jones. From the article it says "It was even suggested that, because she is black she was better able to understand issues involving discrimination. But Rachel felt her appointment had more to do with her being a women than being black." (Paragraph 14).
