Visualize that you are a small child who is on holiday with your family, you are entering into a SeaWorld theme park for the very first time and you are so overwhelmed that you are finally able to see the mesmerizing wildlife. from everything you will be seeing throughout your day you are definitely the most excited about seeing the well-known Killer Whale show. They are the ones you see in SeaWorld commercials and they have completely stolen your imagination and you awe at how big and majestic they are. As you sit in your seat, antsy and heart pumping with adrenaline, waiting anxiously as you see one of the trainers come to speak over the loudspeaker, welcoming you to Shamu Stadium. The most recent occurred in 2010, when Tilikum supposedly grabbed his trainer, Dawn Bran­cheau, by her hair and forcefully dragged her underwater. Tilikum, whose stage name is Shamu at SeaWorld Orlando, weighs approximately 12,000 pounds, and Dawn was one of their best and most experienced trainers. Tragically, Tilikum had also been involved in another earlier death of a trainer, in 1991, when Keltie Lee Byrne accidentally fell into the tank. A homicide investigation showed that Tilikum and two other orcas purposely prevented Byrne from getting out of the pool, causing her to drown. After Brancheau's death, Tilikum was prohibited from doing public appearances. However, just 13 months later, he re-joined the cast of Believe, SeaWorld's most popular dolphin and whale show. These are only some of the horrific incidents that can occur because of what these orcas face and live by.
