Referees can decide a game or let the players play the game the right way. In basketball, every play is crucial, every good pass leads to a better chance to score, every defensive stop can change the direction of the game, but referees have the ability to fix the whole game. Tim Donaghy, who is a NBA referee who gambled and help decide games was one of those refs who decided who won the game within his own hand. Donaghy was known for how he fixed games in his favor or to assist others who gambled under his view. As the son of NCAA Referee, Gerry Donaghy, Tim did not follow what his father preached as a referee. Gerry was a highly respectable referee for nearly 40 years, which he spent 19 of those years as a referee for the NCAA.
