I chose this topic because it’s interesting to see what goes on through people's heads who commit serious crimes. Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people that day, and I would like to know why. From my research, McVeigh got his idea from the book, The Turner Diaries. The Turner Diaries, portrays an aggressive revolution in the United States, which eventually lead to the oust of the federal government. The New York Times describes the book as “explicitly racist and and anti-Semitic.” McVeigh got his idea to bomb the building in OKC from the book. After the attack, he was found with pages from the book. His attack meticulously resembles the bombing of the FBI headquarters that is mentioned in the novel.
