To Kill A Mockingbird Chapter 16 Summary

Chapter 16 is when the trial takes place. Everyone in the town knows about the trial resulting in a massive amount of people showing up to watch. We are introduced to new characters including Mr. X and Judge Taylor. All the town goes to court, including the Negroes, except Miss. Maudie who goes to an unknown place at the time. Later on that day, the town ate lunch together in the town square and we learn about Mr. Dolphus Raymond and why he eats with the coloured folks all the time. The trial then is about to start so Jem, Dill and Scout wait before they go in, just incase Atticus sees them there. We learn about the Maycomb County courthouse and that it’s old, only run by men and that it isn’t well taken care of. The kids then realize that
