2. Burris Ewell, Walter Cunningham and “little” chuck little, all come from poor families but have different aspects, attitudes and points of views. Burris Ewell is one of a couple of children, the Ewell family has a reputation for being rebellious, bad mannered, having no disregard for authority, and a lack of hygiene. Burris Ewell makes a first impression in Chapter 3 when a “cootie” crawled out of his head, terrifying Miss Caroline. He is described by scout as “the filthiest human I had ever seen” (chapter 3, page 26-27). In contrast, we are introduced to Walter Cunningham. Similar to Burris, Walter comes from a poor family of farmers. He is polite and kind hearted. He has been taught not to accept anything from anyone unless you can pay
