There are many virtuous people live by, but the most common one is probably courage. But do people really know what courage is? Do they know that not all acts of courage don't have to be standing up to someone or jumping out of airplanes. It can be a recluse coming out of his home for the first time in years or even something as simple as someone getting out of their bed in the morning. The point is that without courage people would not be able to love or to help others because the fear would far outweigh the good in any situation. For every single person on earth courage means something different to them, and that is what makes courage the number one virtues in my eyes.

Would they see that or instead do they see a man who could not make anything of himself and is now stuck in this position and it is entirely his fault? The probability of them seeing a man who couldn't make anything of himself is very high because this is just who we have become as a society over the years. But without courage that man could not have stepped up to the plate and done all of the work needed to take care of his kids. And the people who only see him as a failure are cowards because they can not scrounge up enough courage to reach out and understand those around them, even to better society. When I was younger there was a boy who was in the sixth grade that was beating my brother up. As soon as I saw this I had ran to get in between them and tried to push them apart despite the fact that I was only in third grade. Without courage the kids around us would have never testified the truth because of the fear of being beat up aswell. Nor would I have been able to delay the boy long enough for a teacher to show up and prevent my brother for further harm. As we can see we can see in real and hypothetical situations courage is the driving force in living a good honest life
