In the story To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee there are many examples of good and evil, especially within the last chapters. Firstly, Helen was using the public road and she was a few yards beyond the Ewell’s place and Mr. Ewell was following her, “she heard a soft voice behind her, crooning foul words.” (27.249) This shows evil in the form of racism, Mr. Ewell hates Helen because of her skin color. Secondly, someone ambushed Jem and Scout, and Jem became “unconscious. We won’t know how badly he’s hurt until Dr. Raynolds gets here.” (28.264) This shows someone perpetrated an evil act and injured Jem. Next, Scout is telling Mr. Tate what happened and he asks who it is, she replies “Why there he is,” (29.270) and she points to Boo Radley.
