Writers use language to inform, persuade, or inspire the reader. Writers inform people by giving them facts or data about something, for example, the news about a politic, if the news team doesn't like that politic they will state facts, but only the bad ones about that person. Writers inspire people by asking better of themselves or speaking to our better nature. For example , after you read something inspiries you want to be a better person of do something courageous just like how that certain character did. Lastly, the writer tries to persuade you. By persuading someone, they can use emotional appeals and it connects to inform and inspire also.

A good way to explain how to do this is the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, it does three things. First it informs us by presenting facts, it inspires us to do something different and change the way we act, and it persuades us maybe to be on the side of a character because they made it seem he/she is more trustworthy. It informs us by showing how white people use to discriminate black people just because of the color of their skin. They accuse a black man of hurting the daughter of the white man all because he looked guilty, when it was actually his father. It inspires because it speaks to us how bad people were to anyone

This shows all 3 of those types of writing. It tells you facts about Ohio town, and it inspires us to become better people. It does that because after you read the article you want to be friendly and you want to recreate your community so it could be like theirs where nobody cares what color you skin is. A quote from this says, ¨where interracial marriages have been happening for nearly two centuries¨. After you read that it persuades you to want to read more and it connects to your emotions. In conclusion, writers use that to make you try to believe what they are trying to
